====== Bluetooth LE Range ======

Bluetooth 4.0 range is usually of the order of 50m to 100m due to the need for the sender to conserve battery power. Where larger batteries are used or the device is indirectly powered by the mains, ranges up to hundreds of meters and in some extreme cases 1Km can be achived.

Bluetooth 5 introduced up to x5 range of Bluetooth 4.0. This isn't all about more power but instead, use of more sophisticated error correction to get a better range from a given transmit [[tx_power|power]].

The range is affected by the surroundings. The best ranges are achieved outdoors where there's no blocking, less interference and fewer radio reflections.
